Njord mead

Exquisite apple with a pear buff.

An apple mead (yes, yes, MEAD, not cider) whose chill is born from the fresh roots of apple trees. But careful — because we wondered how we could make something even better, and since you already know we don’t do ordinary things, we decided to bring pear to the forefront above any other fruity aroma or flavour you might find in this fleeting seasonal nectar.

In this mead, the juicy sweetness of pear blends with honey notes reminiscent of the most exquisite Elven cellars (like the ones Bilbo found in Mirkwood), complemented by the liveliness of apple, adding a sweet and slightly acidic touch. Together they offer a balanced flavour profile: not too sweet, not too tart. Our situational pairing recommendation is to enjoy it on those extreme‑heat days when you hide at home under the blessed breath of the air conditioner. On any of those scorching days, you’d be more than willing to face as many yetis as needed in exchange for spending a few hours on the icy planet of Hoth.
Unfortunately, the Millennium Falcon doesn’t exist and you can’t travel to frozen planets — but at least you can chill your tankard properly with our seasonal mead while watching The Empire Strikes Back. Not bad at all.

PS: On another note, we love giving advice no one asked for, so here’s one: store your mead in a cool place and away from direct sunlight; it’s the best way to enjoy it as if you’d bought it yesterday (but please, we beg you, make sure it’s before the best‑before date).

White meats with a refreshing twist: Works beautifully with dishes like baked chicken or fish tacos, adding contrast and liveliness.

Organoleptic properties:

The pear brings juicy sweetness and notes reminiscent of fruit caramel, filling each sip with smoothness and body, while the apple balances the mead with a sweet‑and‑slightly‑acidic touch that awakens the palate and reinforces the drink’s freshness. It has a fruity character — light, versatile and authentic — designed for those seeking freshness and select flavours.
Alcohol: 6% ABV.
Craft‑made and gluten‑free.

Our meads hold up remarkably well over time; you simply need to store them at room temperature and protected from sunlight. Their flavour won’t change and they won’t gain extra carbonation, as these meads are very stable and never re‑ferment.

Queen’s Cup judges

The “Copa Reina” (Queen’s Cup) is one of those places where mead gets serious.

Organised by AESHI (Spanish Mead Association), the Queen’s Cup has earned its place as a benchmark event in Spain thanks to its strict criteria when evaluating mead recipes.

In this tribunal, recipes must be excellent, as the judges apply a technical standard that accepts no beginner quests — only deep organoleptic analysis.

For that reason, we thank AESHI for choosing us as judges in 2021, 2022 and 2023. We may not be the most traditional (in fact, not even remotely normal), but our tasting notes have proven to be a critical hit.
